The simple payment card soon evolved into the chipcard, with a continuous stream of new and innovative functions on the same card. Today more than two million people use the InterCard chipcard every day in order to pay for services, to identify themselves, open doors, use printers and computer networks and much else within their company, hospital and many other organisations. 1.6 million students alone use the chipcard for identification purposes so that they can use the entire infrastructure at more than 200 universities, institutions of further education and student unions in Germany, Switzerland and beyond.
The central ID – more than just a chipcard
Our vision has become reality: our innovative development teams in Villingen-Schwenningen, Dresden, Sion and Valencia are in the process of redefining identification. A single central registration provides all those within your community with an ID with unlimited possibilities. Instead of just using the chipcard at the terminal for identification purposes, they can now also use their smartphone or biometric characteristics at the same time.
With just one single registration, users are completely free to operate in all the existing and future applications, solutions and systems, from access control to the canteen and when using printers and in the computer network.
Rights such as access rights can likewise be determined centrally for all the systems. With a single centrally managed credit balance, users can pay anywhere within the integrated applications. With many new opportunities.
Thanks to our new central ID, part systems by different providers can be combined to create an integrated central solution which is centrally managed and evaluated: and it can all be used with a single ID – by InterCard.

We are working untiringly to establish the InterCard ID as the new centrally managed ID for continuously new systems, across all boundaries. Our strength has always been our ability to unite the dynamism of the companies within our group to form a large single unit.
In future we also aim to win over innovative start-ups and established providers from different countries for our vision and to integrate them into our group so that they can become a new and important part of our future.

InterCard GmbH Kartensysteme has successfully completed the certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
Thus we were able to demonstrate once more that we are in a position to fulfil sustainably customer requirements and further demands made of the quality of our product and services, and to continue to optimize our processes on the basis of the quality management system that we practise.
This confirmation of compliance with the criteria of the nationally and internationally most widely applied quality management (QM) standard was officially granted to our company by the DEKRA Certification GmbH.
